After listening to the story little lumpty, we built a wall from bricks and sang Humpty Dumpty.  We then investigated which materials would be best to catch little lumpty when he jumps off the wall.
We tested a blanket first like in the story and lumpty was safe because “it’s soft!”
Although the basket and materials were soft lumpty did get a little bit cracked.  The metal colander “is too hard!” and poor lumpty got really cracked.
The children then investigated the materials independently, they especially enjoyed it when little lumpty got cracked!
This week The Little Owls have been listening to the story 'what the ladybird heard'.  We made ladybirds with the play dough and used the map from the story to help save the prize cow from Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh!
The Little Owls have had a very busy week with a visit to the aquarium and a visit from Dr John.  We have also been learning about Chinese New Year and have really enjoyed trying our own dragon dance!
