Small Schools Football Match

Today, we welcomed Doddiscombsleigh Primary School for the first football fixture of the year in glorious winter sunshine.  The following match report was jointly written by the pupils of Eagles class.

The match began at 1.45pm. It was a rough start for the home team as a soft penalty was conceded and Doddiscombsleigh scored the opening goal from the spot, despite the best efforts of goalkeeper Jacob.
The rest of the school gathered on the side to watch the match, waving banners and 'Harbs Hats' and cheering on the team.
The rest of the first half was frustrating for Harbs after several unsuccessful attempts at goal.  At half time, the players regrouped and planned a new strategy.  Meanwhile, merchandise was spreading around the crowd, including the parents!
In the second half, chance after chance was saved by the Doddiscombsleigh goalkeeper until finally, Mylo scored an equaliser after good build up play from Teddy and Isaac. The crowd went wild!
Harbs pushed for a winner but couldn't find a way through and had to settle for the draw.
The player of the match was chosen by Mr Pemberton: Iver will receive this award in assembly, but a great performance all round by everyone involved.
